A Man Called OTTO

A Man called OTTO what can I say about this?

I don't think I can say enough about it.  This is one film that will give you hope for the human condition.  It shows that no matter how much of a grump you are, there is always a heart in there even if it is an enlarged one.

This film starts with a man who thinks no one cares and he is ready to end his life because his wife has died but then there is an immigrant family that moves in next door to him and kind of adopts him as their family.  He is puzzled about how clueless the husband is about tools and how much of an idiot he is.

This Hispanic family gives him a reason to live and also a reason to fight.  Or as Dylan Thomas put it "Do not go gently into that dark night."  There is always a reason to live.  Many people feel hopeless, but there is always an opportunity to help someone.  Whether it is just opening a door for someone, saying high, or just listening to those in pain.

We don't always have to speak first, sometimes you just need to be there for those in need.  Show others that you care and that they are loved.  We all need someone to love us, no matter how small.  Be that person that people need just like OTTO.

Farewell friends,

Lance
