Night at the movies with Lance

  The Ride is available on Prime Video for your viewing pleasure.   Do you ever get that feeling that you are missing something?  That is how I have been feeling recently.  When I watched "The Ride" once again I started to really remember my childhood and where I am originally from.   The Ride is a film set in Petaluma, CA which is near where I am from in northern California in Clearlake, CA and the surrounding towns in Lake County.  The film is about a young man named John McCord who is taken from his family and sent to juvenile hall at a young age, then is placed in a home for foster care.  John has to battle his demons of his past and also the Aryan brotherhood of his family.   His foster father is played by Ludacris of Fast and the Furious fame and race becomes factor in their relationship.  They have to come to terms that even if they don't look the same, they are family.  It shows how it is so hard to trust someone into your family that you don't know.   it is v

       Hello everyone I know it has been awhile but I haven't really watched anything I have wanted to review in the past few months but I have come across a few recently.  Last night I just started watching The Queens Gambit on Netflix.  It is an interesting tale of if you have talent and exercise that talent you can do anything.   The story starts with Elizabeth Harmon, an orphaned girl at after the death of her mother, goes to the Muelen orphanage near Lexingtion, Kentucky.  She meets a friend named Jolene and also a janitor that teaches her chess.  This leads to Harmon's chess ability growing since the age of 9.  When she is adopted by a new family she finally get the chance she needs to expound her chess ability.  She travels all over the world competing in chess tournaments.   This script is well written, the visuals are picturesque, and it makes you are there in the 1960s with Harmon during all of her competitions.  it has been a great distraction the past 2 days in this
